this is a problem (I have to judge it to be so after several years of reflection) that has emerged over the years as I employ any repetitive activity, (no not sex) in particular casting and fishing with intensity. Repetitive cast, dredge, lift, cast elicits several bizarre recollections of some frenetic songfrom the 60’s. Right now, I could not for the life of me access those sounds, but put a rod in my hand and set me to casting and swinging in a quickened pace and bingo! there it is…some jingle that eventually makes me speak to myself…SILENCE for God sakes! If I am bobbing about on rolling waves on the lake, I do not access this annoying state. No, it seems reserved for stream fishing, and in particular, nymphing. The faster the pace, the more heightened the sound becomes. It could be worse, I could be hearing voices of some long lost placer miner or some earth fairy. I am, thank goodness, not that deranged…yet. But, if anyone knows how to replace these tunes with some mellow classical sounds or peaceful self talk…let me know. I have tried, to be sure, listening to preferred sounds, yet it does not replace these annoying tunes that have inserted themselves into my ‘escape’ time. The post title, ‘Czech Nymphing……” was employed because, as I have said, I fish at a much more elevated level when czech nymphing and that is the trigger point. Must I abandon this form of fishing to retain my sanity? Catch more fish v. be a little whacko. Or, both.
