Gina le Faux, 51, was once George Faux, a professional folk singer who lost his rod in sex-change surgery.

She won the England ladies’ fly fishing championship in 2005 and said last night: “Angling is a passion.”

Gina, of Sowerby Bridge, West Yorks, was wed nine years and has two children.

But an angling official said her male past was no problem, adding: “Strength has no influence in the sport.”
