500,000 US Women Go Fly Fishing

A Fish and Wildlife Service survey revealed that nearly 500,000 US women fly fish, the New York Times reported. Sixteen percent of the female angling population is buying more from fly-fishing retailers than ever before.
“We’ve seen a growth in women buying women-specific products in traditinally male-dominated industries,” said Julia Clark Day of the Leisure Trends Group.
