COOL!
I saw this on Moldy Chum and wanted to share it also. Very interesting news. This should receive rave reviews from those that worry about cooperative efforts to protect and restore watersheds. Of course, upstream habitat will be the focus now, and that is a good thing. This is going to be a fascinating project and obviously has been going on for awhile. It raises all manner of questions that I will be excited to see answered. What stretches in the upper drainages will now
be closed for escapement purposes that are now open for trout fishing? Especially, the Crooked and Metolius. There is ineffective enforcement now, but once the fish escape the narrower confines of the Deschutes R. canyon it is going to be even harder, I imagine. Well, I find it exciting if PGE, the Tribe and ODFW can coordinate a restoration project. This is so darn interesting and I just discovered an interesting piece of restoration to sink my mental teeth into….you should do the same if you visit Central Oregon to fly fish. Probably everyone knew about this, but if not check the site out that was also posted at Moldy Chum. Geeez, I have to wonder how many people are over there at MC. There are not enough hours in the day for all the varied topics they put forth.
