I first saw this reversing the body on the shank in Tying Emergers by Schollmeyer & Leeson. I have not explored this enough, perhaps some of you have. Found another example of this tie on the excellent Kossiedun blog re Roy Christie’s Reversed Emergers pattern.

http://reversedparachutes.blogspot.com/ could be worth a look, still under construction but your comments welcome.
The reversed parachute is designed to pull the tippet under the surface when it lands, the rest of the tippet will follow – you get more takes and better hook-ups with this design than any other I know;
regards,
Roy Christie

As far as I understand, This fly pulls the tippet underneath the surface, so the tippet will not disturb the surface (Like normal flies). But I haven’t tried this one yet.

Find similar patterns and ideas for emergers in the Jim Schollmeyer and Ted Leeson book “Tying Emergers, A Complete Guide”. This is a really good book.

Very interesting, not very well understand its advantages, but I liked the hint of books and bought one. In Brazil it is very difficult to find books like this.
