A budding interest in sportfishing in Northern Iran? Perhaps there will be some experimentation or there already is in fly fishing for the “Khaal-Ghermez, خال قرمز”? I certainly hope there are some pioneers in the region that can experiment amidst the strife and oppression to the South. Obviously, not time for outsiders to venture off the beaten path just yet.

Hi there, just noticed you have linked to my blog long time ago 🙂
Anyway, Laar lake to the west of Damavand volcano peak is the candid place for brownis, you may have seen my images and videos of fish I have caught there, but there are rules and timings to be there, fishing season is very short and only on 2 day a week basis.
Also the place is nice for the adventure of hiking, I will have a solo survival hike there this year, possibly for a less than a 100km (60 miles) nature walk.
Paymaan.
