I sometimes enjoy a WFN show called Fishing Western Australia with Steve Correia and Ian Marshall. They seldom fly fish. Mostly they surf fish with spin gear and I find it an informative and pleasing show because of the scenery and seeming remoteness. A little research revealed some trout have been previously introduced into the region in the 1850’s. They have lasted this long and show the adaptability of the Euro species.

I would like to know more about the fish, habitat, flies, health of the species etc. Is it a viable fishery and protected by the remoteness or barely holding on? The WFN show shows a beautiful coastal region with a harsh look.
