I posted this pic some years ago. I have always liked the flies I tied and the wing from the hen feather. Now my trusty camera is on the fritz with some sensor this or that kaput and (kaput & fritz?…I hope you know what I mean there) I am left with an older cell phone and a little Sony digital to take some pics. When I will get back my primary camera is in that “two to three weeks” sphere.
Like any hobby that gives satisfaction, when you don’t have a key component you realize how much you have internalized the process. And now that you are missing that necessary tool…you get twitchy without it.

even though you prefer to shoot with particular device doesn’t preclude using something else.
once you have the art of photography down the brush you paint with is relatively insignificant.
i met a german landscape photographer in the grand canyon…she was using two hasselblads as her primary cameras (one wide angle, the other a short telephoto). interestingly she also carried three or four olympus point and shoots loaded with some slow slide film. she said that for LARGE ptints she preferred the hasselblads’ results but for smaller prints and even some magazine work the $100 olympus cameras had performed quite well
and they were weatherproof (i bought one after meeting her, she was right.).
i guess it’s like flyfishing.
try not to get trapped in a technology pit.
hope you get you camera back soon!
