Please go to Planet Trout and take a detailed look at all Tim Barker has put together regard fishing scuds in rivers and lakes. The photography, materials inventory, the attention to detail for this piece is exceptional. Any freshwater fly fisher world wide should save this piece and review it often. And, as I have mentioned before if you have a penchant for Hollywood history delve into Tim’s site and you might be well surprised…(hint: Susan Hayward). I fixed the earlier glitch re link.

Not a blog related question, just checking that you are not suffering through the terrible USA weather I am just watching on Sky news. Stay safe and keep warm. John bibio55

No John, the West Coast and Pacific NW in particular this time of year can be wet with the rare cold snaps and snow. When we get it, it comes down out of the arctic and overrides any warm fronts that might push it to the East. So far this year, we are record breaking dry but cool (temps 32-48 F and partly sunny). The midwest and NE in particular are getting hammered. They often do, just not one on top of another. It is still early, so we often don’t get the harsh Winter weather until mid to late January.
