A stone bench adjacent to the beginning of the Oneonta Gorge trek. Always in the shade, the bench would be quite inviting on a hot Summer’s day…much less so this very cold January day.
“As you simplify your life, the laws of the universe will be simpler; solitude will not be solitude, poverty will not be poverty, nor weakness weakness.” Henry David Thoreau

I had to allow myself to do it, but for years I have been saying to myself and others that when you become overwhelmed or feel overwhelmed, the first thing you must do is simplify. But I don’t recall mentioning it to Mr. Thoreau. Glad he agrees.

Ha! Yes, I have said the same things several times when I have gotten my self into a mess and completely overloaded. If you read some of his writings he was a bit asocial I think. I know he is often held in such high esteem for obvious reasons, but he may have been a bit testy too. Thanks for visiting!
