“Every man has his secret sorrows which the world knows not; and often times we call a man cold when he is only sad.” Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
“Life is what happens to you while you’re busy making other plans.” Allen Saunders
“There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle.” Albert Einstein
Often, I read such inspirational words and see the logic, but cannot connect to the mental mission to get there. Connecting the motivational dots to happiness. Hmm? Sometimes its there and sometimes its as if I am waving at, reaching for it, in the middle of a night’s dream….just out of reach. Perhaps we are meant to go our own way with verve?
So…I will go with: “Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming “Wow! What a Ride!” Hunter S. Thompson

The last poem sounds best and from reading your posts the last bit of time it sounds like that is how you will land in your grave. BRAVO hope it’s with a smile too.

Yeah, I’m going with your skidding in broadside in a cloud of smoke, too! That about sums it up!!… My favorite “life poem” has always been The Road Not Taken by Robert Frost. “…Two roads diverged in a wood, and I, I took the one less traveled by, And that has made all the difference.” 🙂 ~SueBee

Very nice, or: The woods are lovely, dark, and deep,
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.
