Today, we were driving along through a tired looking neighborhood exacerbated by the drabness of Winter. There was little color, little green even. There was a lot of dead foliage and tired looking houses. Then my eyes spotted an oasis of color, energy and effort to enliven their front yard. This homeowner had taken the time to provide great splashes of color in their front yard with all manner of plastic flowers and other adornments. Not a quiet mind here. I left the oasis of yard art and synthetics back out into the drab sameness. I am being facetious, in part, but the contrast, only shown in small part here was quite a contrast to the bleak yards and homes for blocks around.

I think that homeowner is randomly searching for beauty. I appreciate the effort — like the placing of the pieces of bark. But what is that naked creature perched on the cyclone fence?

Truth be told, it was moving and I wasn’t going to get any where near the muscular little creature. 🙂

Well, this person has a flair for design, I’ll give him that much. A happy face always beats drab. It’s very interesting to me that a person would create such an anomaly right in the middle of the neighborhood. It would be very interesting to meet the homeowner!
