Delicate Ocotillo Cactus….um, not so much

Standing alone, amidst the harshness, the Ocotillo seems delicate and fragile.

The delicate tops with trailing red flowers sway in the desert winds.

But as one gazes down the cactus, a less delicate, more typical prickly side appears.
