The North end of the Joshua Tree National Park has surreal rock formations. It strongly reminds me of the old Westerns on early TV and movies with Hopalong Cassidy, Roy Rogers, Gene Autry, The Lone Ranger chasing bad hombres amidst the oddly shaped rocks. I guess that kind of dates me hey?

The images are from inside the Joshua Tree National Park (California), in the North end of the park. Come in off Hwy 62 at either Joshua Tree (Park Blvd) or further East at 29 Palms (Utah Trail Road) A loop (Park Road) runs between those two towns and the most interesting formations are in that area. There are other ways into the park too.
