In my back yard, a spring emerges from the ground. It’s a gradual, gentle seeping forth. Seemingly, there are few influences to this water. But, I took a photo of the water right below the point of origin and apparently there are subtle changes……the rise and fall of the water level.

Notice the stones and the receding water marks on the stones. It hasn’t rained in several days, but when it did, the water table up hill, somewhere, had worked additional water downhill…hence the rise in level. Now the water was receding. The depth of the water is no more than two inches.
Well-observed!

We had a natural spring growing up in Arkansas! The water was ice cold always! Lucky you!
