It is a bit hit and mostly miss…hit the rose or flower and scatter the bees. Also, I often take several shots before getting one in focus and centered.
This is lovely! I tried to catch a shot of a huge bumble bee yesterday, he kept buzzing in and out of petunia buds and was too fast for me. He finally got annoyed so I had to run away. Beautiful shot!
Oh my…yellow jackets & hornets are my evil nemesis. Honey bees and bumble bees seem to ignore me. Be careful!!! We carry an epi-pen for my wife because of serious allergic responses.
I have been stung by a yellow jacket, spending summers on my grandparents farm there were lots of stinging insects. an allergy to bee sting can be devastating as you apparently know. Keep that epi ready!

Aww man, how the heck do you get so upclose? I usually freak out bc I hate wasps and hornets. But chubby little honeybees are the best. 🙂
