I have used 14 & 16 Yorkshire Fly Body hooks (Swedish design if you have seen them) for the ‘Mayfly’ when trying to fool Brown trout and needed a magnifying glass for anything smaller. Brook trout needed 18 otherwise they spit them out ! well the ones in some of the lakes in Wales – don’t get much fly fishing these days, but with luck should from next year when I return to UK for good.
