calm morning…

went out this morning to catch some early light

there is a culvert that has a beaver dam on one side and meadow that is really a swamp on the other

I parked the car and walked back to the culvert and sat to wait for the sun to play on the western ridge

it was still, not even a breeze

after ten or fifteen minutes a barn swallow buzzed me
a frog ribbetted
a heron flew over
a family of ducks paddled out from under the road
a doe waded through the high grass

it wasn’t still any longer but what wonderful noise!
