Many tiers prefer the Tiemco, Gamakatsu, and Daiichi wire and switched from the Norwegian iron many moons ago. Mustad is replacing the hooks with their “Signature series”, they’re twice the price of their standard hooks and compete directly with the Japanese product lines…There’s no mention of the change on the Mustad web site.

No, she is not a tutor. You have to study up on this yourself. I started tying a ways back and recall using the 3906B and the 94840 hooks for nymphs and dries….somewhere along the way, Mustads became invisible on shelves or pegboards and Tiemco’s and Daiichi became the norm. All this aside…the old 3906B was a great hook…how did I stop using it.
This is all so confusing…I think I may need some personal instruction.
