I hate motors. That goes for cars, airplanes, boats, tractors, electric tooth brushes, whatever. Probably stems from my total conceptual failure to understand how they work. The technology is supernatural to me. Practically, though, what gets me the most is that in any motor-intensive adventure situation, your whole well-being is reliant upon tiny mysterious pieces of a massively complex fabrication, working perfectly in unison. If they don’t, you’re SOL. I prefer simple, and motors aren’t.

For me, it is tires. Whether on the rig or the trailer, I have most often had not just a flat tire, but sometimes multiple flats….going where no tent trailer should be pulled. With family in tow, you can be guaranteed it is either the hottest day of August or an unusually cold day for May. I have also had a blown clutch while towing a trailer and the good old dead battery. Now, if you strive to separate yourself from the rest of humanity, while camping, this presents a problem…I have the jumper cables but…. Ryan at The Big Pull expressed my mystical perceptions of all things mechanical, electrical or computerized.
