As a young boy watching Perry Mason at noon or never ending reruns of Perry, I was always attracted to the assistant Della Street. There was something about those painted lips and big eyes and rounded features…something sexy and contained naughtiness….now I have confirmation of Della’s uninhibited side.
Early morning and primping in the mirror before donning the cowgirl clothing. This is pre April Vokey in the wilderness…roughing it but still wanting to show the feminine side…Is there any doubt that Della would have been out there wetting a line? I think not! Neither Paul nor Perry showed any interest in Della…although I recall Paul calling Della ‘doll’. OK I am a little off here, but it was a time of well formed bras, cashmere sweaters, girdles and dare I say it garter belts…ok enough. Geez I dated myself and once again showed my predatory nature.

Wilma (née Colvin) and Luther Ezra Hale, a landscapegardener at Rockford Nursery on S Main Street .My father told me , He knew Barbara hale before she was famous even knew her parents. Parents watched perry Mason Show. I became a adult watched greatest american hero.I just wanted Bill Katt to know that people in Rockford knew your mother and thought she was a great lady.god bless you family (mine too).

Well, Geeeeeeeez, Carol. Rain on my parade! Ha! Let’s assume her lovely visage is all we know. As of 1/2/09 the lovely was born in 1922 and is alive and a lovely 86 (my God, Carol my mom is 86). Carol, I will not be dissuaded from my fantasy…and in the truest ability of males, will ignore all the negatives or downsides (thanks to you) and carry on my merry recollections of a cute young woman.

Perry and Paul never noticed Della–are you kidding? Go back and view the old TV series. They were flirting with her all the time. In fact, Paul often gave her second looks as she let him into Perry’s office. And Perry was flirting with Della and taking her out to dinner, etc. And she was always telling him when a woman in his waiting room was good looking. Sex was always implied in Perry’s relationship with Della and with many of the male/female relationships of clients and suspects on the show.
