William Gent would like the assistance of any WWII Nose Art enthusiast, who might know of the downed B-24 Liberator bomber, the Ain’t Misbehavin. Gent’s family member, Mother Marjorie, was the model for the nose art. The plane was shot down over Italy. If you have any photo’s of the plane or the application of the nose art let me know and I will provide you Mr. Gent’s contact info.

For your information: My father was bombardier on a B-24J also named Ain’t Misbehavin’ at Attlebridge in England in 1944-45.

I believe I have a picture with a B-24 with that nose art taken at Pescara, Italy with a group of Army Air Corps maintenance technicians posed for a professional quality photo. This picture has my late Dad front and center. He told me that he often loaded onto airplanes ( he was not air crew) and was flown up north in Italy towards the front to patch up aircraft that had been battle damaged and made emergency landings at other than Foggia, Italy where the aircraft and he was stationed. The picture is of professional quality and may have been published in the Stars and Stripes Newspaper. I will attempt to locate my photo.

Joe,
Where you ever able to find that Photo of the Ain’t Misbehavin’? I am the youngest son of James Heinrich Link who was the tail gunner on this plane. I would love to have a copy if you do have something like that.
Thank you,
Wade J. Link

My grandfather ( James Heinrich Link) was the tail gunner of the downed Aint misbehavin. It was actually gunned down over Austria not Italy. They were stationed in Italy. We are currently looking through all of his war photos to see if I can supply you with a pic. of your family member.

Rani,
I attempted to reach Mr. Gent, without success, at least for now. I will hope he sees this or I reach him via his old contact info.

I recently found out that Ain’t Misbehavin’ was not his Home plane. He only flew on it when they’re home plane was down for repairs. Interesting note is that he also flew on Lady Be Good. The infamous plane that went down in Africa.
