This evening, I decided this evening to explore Russian fly tying and made my way to Vladmir Markov and Igor Tyapkin. In the process, I found this interesting little mouse pattern by Günter Feuerstein called the Minky Mouse. You would have to find straight cut and cross cut mink and some foam. I have never fished a mouse pattern for browns, big bows or grayling. I would appear to be a good beginners pattern for a top water presentation.

i ran across this pattern early this spring.
tied a few…once the fur is saturated it rides low in the water just like a real mouse and gets relatively heavy. it’s a good pattern.
all these gurgler-type patterns with a tail are all quite productive. you just have to decide on size and degree of float.

Oh man, does that look dangerous or what? Good find Gary! I know some pike that would absolutely lose it for one of those. Only problem is the sponge; they’d have it shredded in no time but I’m sure the less “toothy” fish would show it some love too!
