Interesting concept. Of course, the selections are made slowly and thoughtfully for the sake of the photo, but interesting none the less. What would you pick, say 10 or so things and how would you lay it out?

This actually happened to me. I grabbed the kids, my fly rods (all in their socks, sitting in one corner) and my shotgun. My wife managed to get our wedding photos and a pair of Italian shoes that she assures me was worth going for. When you wake up in a burning house, you don’t really think as much as react…

My parents house burned down before I was born and to this day my mom sings the praises of the volunteer fire fighters who went in the house and saved some of her photos, her special hope chest her father made. They did not have to risk their lives my mom says, but she will never forget all they did. It is important to think what you would like saved but it seems the fire fighters know what and the where to ask!!

Both cats, laptop, family photos and, if there’s time, several framed family photos. The cats would be the most difficult to catch and/or chase out, but the laptop’s not far from the door and the gingerbread tin of photos is right next to the door. A close friend lost all her belongings to a fire and has always said what she misses most are the photos.
