I posted this little gem awhile ago: The Lightning Bug. Not sure of the origin, but my son has tied it now and then and it is a nice producer in lakes, and probably streams as well. The flashy abdomen, wingcase and any flash off the bead head would be attractors in the right lighting conditions.
Fly Tying: Lightning Bug Nymph

Lighting bugs are an absolute must for fly fishing in Montana . We fish them in both gold, silver and pink. Soft hackle lightning bugs are also big producers. If I had one dropper for nymphing the Madison it would be a small size 18 gold beadhed lightning bug. The ease of tying is just another great bonus!
