I have only traveled by train a short distance and at a longer level (cross country) a very long time ago. I think it is still a reasonable bargain and it seems well run from my minimal observations. I don’t hear about derailments (more freight trains). My experience is it can be a slow go stopping along the way at more than just larger towns.
