Rather than presenting the image with no explanation and leaving it to your imagination re what the image is, I decided to explain each image. Yesterday afternoon, the sun high, I visited an old restoration/recycle company. In back, near a loading dock, they store all manner of metal pieces for creative renovations or industrial art. The shadows were crisp, the pieces rusted and ordinary, save a few. So, I took a few shots and here they are. Some are obvious and some would have been good ‘I wonder what that is?’ moments. The back loading dock had all manner of objects that are unique, decorative pieces.

Wonder where that heavy duty spring was used, it’s hard to tell how large it is but it looks like it pushed or pulled something very large. Interesting!

Yes, not huge but about 18″ long and 6″ wide it was definitely for heavy equipment of some sort.

I love some of these, for me though, they need no explaining. I think to explain leads the viewer in a certain direction, not allowing them their own flight of fancy. The square hole in the metal plate I think is my favourite much more abstract the little unsharp square giving it that feeling of depth on an apparently two dimensional subject and I felt it needed looking at a lot longer than the others which were more self explanatory even without the captions. I agree John. Normally, I do just present the image and leave it to one’s imagination and observations. I like that square hole one too. It was a surprise for me too. Hope your Summer is progressing well. Thanks Gary

Very cool images with the shadows! My favorite is the watering can spout.

I love them all. That said, a rustic garden gate is always stunning in my eyes.
