SWEET PHOTO. REMEMBER THE LITTLE CAMPER YOU AND YOUR AUNT/UNCLE CAMPED IN. ENJOY YOUR BLOGS MUCH. VERY NICE FAMILY. WE OWE MUCH TO PEOPLE LIKE YOUR FAMILY WHO SERVED IN THE WAR. THANK YOU.
Yes Sioux, some years ago, I did several things: I did an extensive genealogy (family tree) of the four branches of the family back into Europe with ranges from 1500’s to 1700’s)…I was able to gather up written material on my Father’s war service…I listened to my Mom and Aunt about the old days (I am doing much the same thing now with my Father-in-law who is in his 80’s)…and I am sharing with my four children where this data is and sharing stories too to let them get a feel for their lineage.
Awesome! Thank you for keeping the story. It’s so important for the new generations and those who’ve forgotten to never forget this. Especially RIGHT now as we forge out of another dark period, but this time it’s coming from and in the U.S.
So beautiful….what strong and resilient humans they made back then!!! My Dad served with the Canadians in WW2, landed on D-Day …I never ever forget how wonderful it is to be free.

On other blogs I have seen comments about your father’s war service in the Aleutian area. Must have been incredibly tough.

Oh thank you for mentioning that. Yes, he was a very tough man. Sweet sometimes too.

Maybe a bit like my Dad. He is in hospital at the moment. We know he is improving because he is being stroppy. 😀
