The Whitaker Ponds Nature Park is located in NE Portland and connects to the Columbia Slough. It looks to be an excellent area to explore for birds, native plants, wildlife amidst the black cottonwoods and ponds.

Love Portland and the Columbia River area. Lived in Portland twice in my lifetime. I remember getting a lot of rain in Portland. Nice photo.

Yes, at times the grey skies close in and can get a bit gloomy, but all in all having lived here my whole life…it is a beautiful area to live. If one escapes a few times a year, that helps too 🙂 The Summer, once it arrives lasts well into October.
