I can’t recall anymore whether my Dad or Mom had the fascination with Hollyhocks. There they were each Summer, unruly stocks leaning this way and that…honey bees and bumblebees visiting the numerous flowers. A few years ago, I harvested seeds from the last remaining Hollyhocks in their yard, after they had passed and the house was being sold. As with my parent’s roses & fuchsias, that I have transplanted to our home, I enjoy a touch of the past with the Hollyhocks too.

hollyhocks…

I grew hollyhocks one summer, and I decided I need to grow them again. They’re so cheerful 🙂
