“Ten times as many Canada geese spend the winter in Oregon as they did 20 years ago. Now instead of one subspecies of Canada goose, the dusky, there are seven. Now, instead of the 25,000 geese that wintered in Oregon, there are 250,000…..” Agriculture & Geese

one of the ponds (we call them lakes here) i fish now has 5 families of geese up from 1 a couple of years ago
on any given spring day you’ll find up to 100 visitors looking for a little r&r, maybe even mates
overall global warming sucks…however the difference in surviving bird populations (locally at least) is staggering
because of the geese and ducks we have bald eagles actually nesting nearby
because of the eagles even the carp are starting to look up
happy easter

Wow, that number is staggering! But I bet it makes for some really good photo shoots! 🙂 Wishing you and yours a beautiful Easter!

Thank you Linda…wishing you the very best as well! I like their presence, but I am not raising crops. I can hear them now flying by, low over the house, honking away headed for a nearby wetland. Enough wildlife seems to be dwindling or missing in action…

So very true about the dwindling and missing wildlife. So sad.
