I love his work! I’ve been studying the Hudson River School Artists for years trying to hone my landscapes to get to their level. Worthington Wittredge is the first Hudson River School artist’s work I fell in love with.
You’re the first person I’ve run across that has shown him or mentioned him!
I only have one book from the school of the artists works but, I’ve got a few more on my wish list.
I had never heard of the artist nor the school. I am not well versed in such things as artists, genres etc. I was perusing a fly fishing site and the writer showed Wittredge’s The Trout Pool. More exploring revealed more about Wittredge’s explorations West and his paintings. A very enjoyable discovery indeed. Happy you enjoyed this.
So beautiful

An amazing painting. Without the war and fight of land it must have been like paradise – But I might be wrong. Beautiful it is ❤

I would like to see the painting but without a link to view larger it is a bit too small to see.
