In the backyard, along the garage wall, there is a prolific blooming clematis called Polish Princess….emerging from behind the clematis is a volunteer plant that is quite pretty…but I don’t know the actual name of the plant…probably quite common I bet/you’ll let me know no doubt. The contrast of deep purple and bright yellow against the garage wall is a colorful splash I enjoy seeing this time of year. The clematis will bloom until late Summer, but the yellow beauty will be done by mid Summer.

Peruvian Day Lily perhaps??

could be a Peruvian lily – Alstroemeria , just looks a bit pointier than usual. But nice contrast 😀

And The Head Gardener is not here to be consulted :). I used to buy them as cut flowers for my consulting room in London.

Purple and yellow are my favorite contrasting colors, but I have a yellow house, so mostly, I have lots of purple! 🙂

The leaf and flower structure remind me of an Asiatic lily…does it by any chance develop small black bulb looking things at the base of each leaf????
