12/03/17, hazy evening, 38℉, Portland, Oregon

there was a metallic crash this morning
the dogs hackles were up
I looked out the bedroom window to see two very large raccoons opening the neighbors trash cans
the moon had a nice angle and provided excellent lighting…much brighter than the nearest streetlight
the magic isn’t gone or even diminished
it just takes a moment to realize it is still there
