Headed off the river last night, driving west toward Mt. Hood, provided a surreal vision of cloud formations and beauty. Mt. Hood, at 11,000+’, was barely visible, encased in clouds (when we reached there, in the dark, it was pouring rain). Beautiful sky for us driving back toward Portland, Oregon.

I’m reminded of a visit to Oregon. Seeing the glory of Mt. Hood, brightly shining above some glorious clouds, we felt compelled to drive to the top. Once we reached the top, we couldn’t see it! A snowstorm and fog had whipped in, so every where we looked was bright white. It’s another kind of surreal.

Now I know what the word ‘surreal’ really means. It means- ‘no way is that real!”.
