Showed these two patterns long ago and came upon them again. The simple removal of the biot tail takes the classic Prince Nymph (an excellent fly) and creates, I think, an excellent pattern, The Pauper.
Great looking flys. Love seeing flys that use same fly tying materials but maybe doing a change up like you did with leaving out the tail. Which one have you had more success with?
Well I would have to say the Prince because I have used it for a good many years and the Pauper is just something I came up with a few years ago. The Pauper would just be that much easier to tie minus that biot tail.
