I worked my way toward a ridge line, in hopes of gaining a vista. The climb, as usual, was longer, steeper and more exacting than I had imagined. The rocks more abrasive, the footing ever more tenuous as muscles grew tired, I finally slowed and realized my limitations for the day.
I enjoyed the moment in this harsh landscape of tans, greys, browns, pale greens and lightening induced black. I found one bright spot of color on the way down.
