“The first supermarket supposedly appeared on the American landscape in 1946. That is not very long ago. Until then, where was all the food? Dear folks, the food was in homes, gardens, local fields, and forests. It was near kitchens, near tables, near bedsides. It was in the pantry, the cellar, the backyard.”
Joel Salatin (Folks, This Ain’t Natural: A Farmer’s Advice for Happier Hens, Healthier People, And a Better World)

I wish I were already growing all of our own food. We are far from it. Look at what the supermarkets and corporate run farmers have managed to do in this small amount of time; they have taken wholesome food and turned it into poison.

Well it isn’t all poison, but we know enough to not eat everything out of a bag/box and to return to growing our own. I frankly just feel healthier working the soil, tending to the growth, nurturing and the harvest. Now if we can just do a little less technology…less mind warping by not just the marketers but by the media/state apparatus we would be happier and mellower. Hope your early Summer is going well.

I agree exactly with what you said. Summer is starting out great. We are about to go on vacation for the week. I have been off of work for several days already so that is good.
