The fly sets atop the water. A fish, a big fish, has been splatting the surface taking the fluttering Caddis from the surface. I watch the fly through the viewfinder (odd word) and wait. The take comes, explosively. I snap and the image captured is not of the fish, as I had hoped, but of the dozens of water droplets, originally propelled upward, now dropping upon the surface. The small waves and surface vibrations from the breeze are equally beautiful to see.
