My Aunt Tillie, at 4’11” sitting on a wooden crate and pillow to gain altitude. She couldn’t reach the pedals. Athens, Wisconsin, 1932. Much to the concern of neighbors and family, she drove into her late 80’s and always had to balance reaching the pedals and seeing over the dash.
